Frequently Asked Questions

1. I want to use other applications too while listening to Radyo. (  for ex: opening websites, checking email, taking photographs.. ) How can i do that?

Unfortunately, working with more than 1 application at the same time is limited and not allowed by Apple. Therefore, none of the applications can work at the same time with others, excluding Apple’s some own applications like iPod.

2. The channel I listen to is not in the list. What to do?

You may either send your request from the integrated communication form or over this website. If the channel is not against the laws and if it’s technical infrastructure is supported, it is added to the list as soon as possible. If you expect a feedback related to your message, do not forget to add your email to your message.

3. Application is not working.

“Application is not working” sentence is unfortunately not enough for detecting and solving the problems. If you can not find the solution of your problem or question; if you write (from the very beginning) in the order of what you did, what did you expect to happen and what happened at the end, you may be contacted in a shorter time and the problem may be solved as quick as possible.

4. Application exited unexpectedly! What may the cause be?

Eventough the application is being tested as much as possible, there may be overlooked errors/bugs/problems. In this case, if you write (from the very beginning) in the order of what you did, what did you expect to happen and what happened at the end and add the crash report to your message, the problem may be understood and solved quickly.

5. What is the crash report?

When an application freezes, crashes, quits unexpectedly a crash report is automatically created by the device. These reports do not include personal informations but only include the application variables and the memory state at the time of the crash, in a technical structure.

After synchronizing your device with your computer, you can find all of the crash reports inside the folders of your computer those listed below. Since the related folders includes crash reports for all of the applications, you have to select the reports (or the report that happened at a specific date) starting with the name “Radyo”.

  • If  you are using a Mac:
    <HOME>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE NAME>
  • If you are using a Windows XP:
    C:/Documents and Settings/<USERNAME>/Application Data/Apple computer/Logs/CrashReporter/<DEVICE NAME>
  • If you are using a Windows Vista:
    C:/Users/[USERNAME]/AppData/Roaming/Apple computer/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE NAME>

6. I have made unrecommended modificatios on my device, does it matter? (Jailbreak)

Jailbreak means illegaly modifying your Apple product which is not supported by Apple in anyway and a jailbroken device is out of warranty.

Radyo application can technically work on a jailbroken device and it does not take action to prevent it. But please do not contact related to ANY problems those happened on these devices; we give no support in anyway under these circumstances. Other than these, memory usage increases, performance drops, personal privacy is not protected and security risk increases on the devices modified liked this. Because of these reasons, unexpected situations may be experienced while using Radyo since there has to be enough performance to meet the requirements of Radyo application.

If you are using an original device (not modified illegally), you don’t have to worry about anything written in this clause.

7. Can I listen to the radios in the application for free in anyway?

All of the channels listed in the application are totally free and can be listened with some other iphone applications and with many different desktop applications made by many companies/people. This application or any resource related to this project, DOES NOT make broadcast itself. The original broadcast given by the radio company is being listened.

8. When i start the application, i see no channels! What’s wrong?

Application is prepared to start where you leave it. If you have opened favorites genre (with no favorites) and closed the application, next time you open the application you’ll see that exact empty favorites screen. This is not a bug, add more channels to your favorite list or just change the genre.

9. The channel i’m listening to, is continuously pausing and playing (“loading/buffering”). Is this an error?

If status says something like “loading, waiting, buffering”, that means, application does not have enough sound data to play, which means, either your internet connection is slow or the server of the channel that you are listening to has reached to the maximum user limits or that server’s bandwidth/simultaneous connection capacity; since this is a problem of the related server, RADYO application is unable to do anything for this problem. In this case, you also won’t be able to listen to that radio station over the internet with any other radio application at that time, because this is a problem related to that channel and it’s broadcasters.

10. The channels those i want to listen, continuously shows “No connection” etc.. message. Is this an error?

If you have just unlocked your device from the locked state/sleep state, your device may not have the ability to use the internet connection for a few seconds, even it seems like there is an internet connection. In this duration, if you try to listen any channel, you’ll get the “No connection” message.

Broadcast of the related channel may have been stopped temporarily/for an indefinite time or it’s broadcasting address may have been changed. In this case, since RADYO can not guess the new address, related channel may not be connectable until the channel list gets updated and “No connection” message appears.

Related radio channel may be out of available lister slots/may have not enough broadcasting capacity, which means, this station will not be connectable even for other radio applications including the applications made for desktop; because the problem is not related to the radio listening clients/applications but directly with the related radio channel server.

11. I am not happy, i don’t want to see or talk with you any more. Do you mind?

Yes! Please do not that that. For sure we do care. However we are not psychologists, we’ll do our best to help you. Please let us know the problem before you stop using the application.

12. I have sent you a message but i still couldn’t get a reply?!

We reply all the messages those require an answer, but if you still couldn’t get the reply, the reason may have been one of these:

  • Your message might not be read yet because of various reasons.
  • If you didn’t give your contact information (email) while writing the message, you can not be reachable. In this case, if there is a problem, it will be solved/fixed, but you will not be able to be reached for the feedback of your message.
  • If you are using the application in an illegal way, your message will be deleted without being read.

13. I don’t understand the “favorite” system. How can i see my favorite channels?

Like any other genre (category), you can select “favorite” channels from the category menu. Lower left of the category box shows a “star”. If you select that star, you’ll see your favorite channels. Don’t forget to select “All” to see all of the channels.
